9.    204 - 214 West Martin Street
Rauch's Block * 1865
These three-story brick buildings housing ground level stores
are an example of the high point of Italianate architecture in
Martinsburg and West Virginia.

10.    126 East Race Street
Belle Boyd House * 1853
This Greek Revival Mansion was built by Benjamin Reed Boyd,
father of Belle Boyd, who became a Confederate spy, West Virginia's
first authoress, and first actress abroad. It is now the home of the
Berkeley County Historical Society and Berkeley County Historic
Landmarks Commission.

11.    229 East Martin Street
Baltimore & Ohio Railroad * 1842
The B & O Railroad was completed to Martinsburg from Baltimore,
Maryland in 1842, and became a major passenger and freight center.
All but the stationhouse was destroyed by Stonewall Jackson's troops
during the Civil War. The Roundhouse was rebuilt in 1866. A major
labor strike occurred here in 1877.

12.    128 East Martin Street
Apollo Theater * 1912
This theater was designed by Reginald Geare, architect for the
well-known Knickerbocker Theater of Washington, D.C. The
Apollo has served as a cultural asset to Martinsburg and Berkeley
County with vaudeville concerts, plays, and as a movie house for
many years. It is now owned by the Apollo Civic Theater, Inc.
and serves as a live community theater. In 1979, it was listed in the
National Register of Historic Places as an outstanding building,
and later was incorporated in the Downtown Historic District.
