Berkeley County Historical Society

Our Mission
  •       The Berkeley County Historical Society is a focus group dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of history in Berkeley County West Virginia.
  •       Develop the Belle Boyd House as an educational center depository for historical papers and materials.
  •       Restore and protect the artifacts, documents, and manuscripts.
  •       Write, research, publish and continue to develop architectural and genealogical materials for public access.
  •       Catalog and document all artifacts and items donated or loaned to the Berkeley County Historical Society.

The Belle Boyd House is now celebrating its 17th year.  A lot has been donated to make the Belle Boyd House with its eleven rooms of display a wonderful museum.  Ben Boyd store is an exceptional place to buy books on local history.  Open five days a week, closed on Sunday, Wednesday and all Federal Holidays, hours 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Annual picnic and general election Sunday, July 12, 2009, 6:00 p.m.  The picnic is held at the Morgan Cabin Pavilion on Runnymead Road.  If you need directions, call 304-267-4713.

Don’t miss the Annual Fall House Tour, September 12 and 13.
