Berkeley County Historical Society

Our Mission
  •       The Berkeley County Historical Society is a focus group dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of history in Berkeley County West Virginia.
  •       Develop the Belle Boyd House as an educational center depository for historical papers and materials.
  •       Restore and protect the artifacts, documents, and manuscripts.
  •       Write, research, publish and continue to develop architectural and genealogical materials for public access.
  •       Catalog and document all artifacts and items donated or loaned to the Berkeley County Historical Society.

The Belle Boyd House is now celebrating its 17th year.  A lot has been donated to make the Belle Boyd House with its eleven rooms of display a wonderful museum.  Ben Boyd store is an exceptional place to buy books on local history.  Open five days a week, closed on Sunday, Wednesday and all Federal Holidays, hours 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Don’t miss the Christmas season at the Belle Boyd House, which runs from November 27 through December 22, 2009. The theme for this year is “Santas From Around the Area”.  Entertainment and refreshments available on the weekends. See Upcoming Events page for more details.
