Architectural and Pictorial Histories of Berkeley County West Virginia
Berkeley County is one of the most outstanding architectural gems of the state of West Virginia with over 3,000 buildings listed in the National Register of Historical Places. Recent surveys of buildings located in Berkeley County that are over fifty years old have been conducted. The task was to identify the most outstanding and cultural resources of the area. These surveys have been conducted at various times since 1974 with local and state federal money. Much of the information gathered in these surveys, which thousands of hours of research by volunteers and many more hours of professional research, have been published in the Architectural and Pictorial Histories on Berkeley County.
The following Architectural and Pictorial Histories are still available.
Volume II, hard cover, has over 353 pages that covers seven of the nine historical districts in Martinsburg. This volume has descriptions of the property and buildings and maps locating the buildings on the property. Photographs of the buildings and background histories also date the properties from the original owners. Only a couple are left at $35.00 each.
