Belle Boyd often mentioned the beautiful roses and
honeysuckle surrounding the house where she was born.
In the rear garden of the Belle Boyd House the Potomac
Edison Company cut down and removed a large, old,
mulberry tree.  Scott Lawrence helped Don Wood
transplant 129 roses from his former Hedgesville home in
order to establish a rose garden in Belle's former home.
The garden and house look so lovely together that they
have been placed on the House an Garden Tour as well at
the BCHS Fall Tour of Homes several times.

The roses begin blooming most often in early May and
continue through frost in the fall.
